The best brush on the market right now, its self-cleaning system is very practical. I recommend it!

The tail—it’s always the same story

We know how it starts. A knot spotted out of the corner of your eye, a hand tugging at it "just to see," and twenty minutes later you're still there, detangling strand by strand, with half the tail left in the brush.

The classic reflex is detangling spray. It works—but you have to hold it in one hand and the brush in the other, it sprays everywhere except where you’re aiming, it ends up being expensive, and many horses hate the noise.

Soie does both at the same time. The misting starts from the brush head, exactly where the bristles are working. One press of the thumb, the hair dampens, and it glides. You have one hand free—the one holding the tail.

What really changes

Misting in the right place

The nozzle is integrated into the head, not the handle. The water therefore reaches the section you are detangling, not three centimeters away. You can use plain water or your usual diluted detangler—the reservoir accepts both.

The reservoir holds 20 ml. It is intentionally small: Soie mists; it doesn't drench. With a few presses per section, that easily covers a mane and a tail, and refilling it at the stable tap takes five seconds. It is a precision tool, not a garden sprayer—and that is exactly what makes it easy to handle with one hand.

Hair removal at the touch of a button

This is the detail you only truly appreciate after using it. A detangling brush full of hair means five minutes spent pulling it out with your nails at every session.

With Soie, pressing the button retracts the bristles into the head: the clump of hair detaches in one block; you throw it away, release the button, and you’re ready to go again. Two seconds.

The size that makes you use it

Twenty centimeters, cordless, lightweight. It fits in a jacket pocket, in the grooming bucket, or in the horse trailer’s storage compartment. The tools you really use are the ones you have on hand—not the ones left in the tack room.

Where to use it

Area Why it's great for it
Tail Its main terrain. Section by section, from bottom to top.
Mane Detangles and tames, including right before braiding.
Forelock A narrow area where the compact head works better than a large brush.
Jaws, ears Where fine hair gets tangled and where large brushes don't reach.
Fetlocks For horses with thick feathering.

How to use it

1. Fill. 20 ml of plain water, or water mixed with your detangler. Rinse the reservoir after using a product, especially if it is oily.

2. Start from the bottom. Always. You detangle a tail from the bottom up, section by section, never attacking from the root.

3. Mist then brush. One or two presses on the section, then detangle. If it resists, mist again—never force it.

4. Empty the brush. A press of the button, the hair detaches, and you're back at it.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, and it's important to state this: Soie mists water, it does not heat it. The mist comes out at the temperature of the water you put inside. It is a fine mist, not a garment steamer.

It is a mister, not a sprayer: a few presses per lock are enough. In practice, a mane and tail easily fit into one reservoir, and refilling it takes five seconds. The small size is what allows you to hold it with one hand.

Yes, diluted. Avoid thick or pure oily products, which would eventually clog the nozzle. Rinse the tank with clean water after using a product.

On horsehair, no — that is precisely what allows you to untangle a knot without pulling. On skin, yes: Soie is not made for the body. Stick to the mane, the tail, the forelock, and the long hairs.

It is significantly quieter than a detangling spray—no pressurized hissing, just a slight pump hum. Introduce it while stationary first, let them sniff it, then mist it onto your hand first.

Yes, that is actually its original design. On long hair and undercoats, it works in exactly the same way.

Empty the tank after each session, eject the bristles, and wipe the head with a damp cloth. Do not immerse it.

Customer reviews

Excellent 4.8 / 5

  • A brand that gets straight to the point

I really like Hippalya's approach. You don't end up with dozens of useless products, but a selection designed around the horse's comfort and well-being. The site is clear, the products are well-presented, and the whole thing feels very professional.

    Camille R., horsewoman

  • Finally, a selection designed for riders

What I liked about Hippalya is that you can tell the brand understands the daily life of riders. The products aren't presented as miracle solutions, but as accessories that can genuinely improve the little moments in daily life with your horse. That’s exactly what I was looking for.

    Marion L., horse owner

  • A great discovery

I discovered Hippalya while looking for products to take better care of my horse after training sessions. I particularly enjoyed the brand's world, the simple explanations, and the limited selection of products.
